alpha9.1-diagUltraRig alpha 9.1 diagnostic build (Tank-G v2)Beta1 file
Diagnostic build, only for a few Tank-G v2 pedals that hang right after installing UltraRig. If UltraRig works on your pedal, you don't need this.
It installs UltraRig like the normal installer, then spends about 10 minutes testing the pedal: it restarts it several times on its own, each time with a small change, and records what happens. Don't unplug the pedal or switch it off while it runs. If UltraRig doesn't start properly on your pedal, it goes back to the factory firmware by itself at the end (it asks once at the start). Leave the report box ticked at the end: that report is what we need.

alpha9.1UltraRig alpha 9.1 for the Tank-G and Tank-B, v1 and v25 files
Alpha 9.1 fixes the installs that alpha 9 refused or left hanging. Same sounds as alpha 9; the control page and the app now tell you when the pedal still has the factory firmware.
What's new
- **No more freezing right after the install.** On some computers the pedal froze a few seconds after installing, footswitches and lights dead, and again on every retry. Found it: it was changing its processor speed while the computer was still talking to it over USB. Now it sets its speed when it switches on, before the computer sees it, and the speed test runs with the USB paused. If alpha 8 or alpha 9 did this to you, this was it.
- **The "settings area is not laid out" refusal is gone.** If alpha 9 stopped with that message, your pedal installs now.
- **A preset with no amp block no longer crashes the pedal.** With lots of effects and no amp, switching on could crash it into safe mode without sound: fixed.
- **Backups survive Windows cutting the read.** If the backup kept stopping with a Windows error, the installer now retries much harder (up to eight times per block, then the whole read again) and compares three reads if two don't match.
- **Safe mode after installing: the installer retries by itself.** It saves what happened, restarts the pedal and tries once more. Only if it fails again does it take you back to factory.
- **Very old USB ports work.** On 2010-era USB 2.0 ports the installer retries the first contact with the pedal several times and tells you exactly what happened.
- **The pedal waits for the installer before starting the sound.** Only right after installing. Without a computer it starts in a few seconds, as always.
- **Tank-B and v1 pedals: about 6 dB louder.** Like the factory firmware. If you had raised Output or MASTER to compensate, lower them back.
- **The control page and the app spot the factory firmware.** If the pedal still has it, they tell you to install UltraRig first, from Windows.
- **Plus the smaller fixes.** A steadier first boot and a quicker loader drive.
How to update
Download the package for your board, unzip it, switch the pedal off and on, close the control page, and run
UltraRig-Installer.exe: "Update UltraRig" if you already have UltraRig (presets stay), "Install UltraRig" from factory. Leave the report box ticked at the end.UltraRig-alpha9.1-v2-win.zipsha256:6d83ed2ae7bd2b42c291acb2ec527f35859fa1f427b481b94f91cfb42c07b659

alpha9UltraRig alpha 9 for the Tank-G and Tank-B, v1 and v25 files
UltraRig alpha 9 is here, and it now runs on the Tank-B too. Tank-G v1 and v2 (factory firmware 97 or 98) and Tank-B v1 and v2 (factory firmware 100).
Quick heads-up: it's an alpha. It works well, but it's a community project that keeps moving, so you use it at your own risk, at home or on stage.
Which file do I grab?
- v2 pedal (Tank-G v2 or Tank-B v2):
UltraRig-alpha9-v2-win.zip - v1 pedal (Tank-G v1 or Tank-B v1):
UltraRig-alpha9-v1-win.zip - Android app (optional, runs your pedal over Bluetooth):
UltraRig-alpha9-android.apk
Same zip for the Tank-G and the Tank-B of each version: the installer figures out which pedal you have. Not sure if yours is a v1 or a v2? The installer tells you.
What's new
- Hello, Tank-B! UltraRig now runs on the bass version too, and the panel does what it says: SUSTAIN and ATTACK drive the compressor, MOD FX1 and FX2 the modulation, SPACE TIME and MIX your delay or reverb. In Live mode: A SPACE, B MOD, C AMP, D COMP.
- Every pedal finds its sweet spot. A few pedals froze right after installing. Now the installer finds the optimal speed for yours at the end of the install (takes about a minute, and the pedal may restart once or twice on its own, no worries).
- Never stuck. If UltraRig doesn't start properly, the installer tells you straight away and takes you back to factory with one button.
- A friendlier installer: one window that stays in front, quicker on picky computers, plain messages, and a little report at the end so I can fix things (untick it if you'd rather not).
- Bass goodies (guitar too): a tuner that catches the low B of a 5-string, a 5-band Bass EQ, a 6-band graphic EQ, "Clean" on the drives to keep your low end, and "Low cut" on chorus, flanger and phaser.
- Crossover splits: lows on one branch, highs on the other. Drive the highs, keep the lows clean.
- Splits keep your volume now. A new split doesn't get louder anymore, and your saved presets sound exactly the same.
- Input stuck? The control page spots it and tells you to switch the pedal off and on.
- A new guided tour in the control page that walks you through each part of the screen.
- Plus a bunch of small fixes.

Unzip the package for your board, run
UltraRig-Installer.exe(on the v1, as administrator) and hit "Update UltraRig". Your presets, captures and IRs stay put. The first update also finds your pedal's sweet spot. Then openweb\index.htmlfrom this package, or grab the new app.First time?
Your Tank-G needs factory firmware 97 or 98; your Tank-B, 100. On another version? Update it first with M-VAVE's current M-UPGRADE from m-vave.com/download. That puts the factory presets back, so save yours with M-EFCS before. The installer checks your pedal before touching anything, and if it isn't supported it stops without changing a thing.
- Download the package for your board and unzip it. Keep the folder together.
- Give
README.txta quick read. Pedal on, plugged straight into the computer, M-EFCS and M-UPGRADE closed. - Double-click
UltraRig-Installer.exe(on the v1, as administrator), hit "Install UltraRig", tick the checklist and go. If Windows offers to format a disk, click Cancel: that disk is your pedal. - It backs up your whole pedal first, writes UltraRig, restarts it and finds its sweet spot. Leave the pedal plugged in and on until the window says you're done.
- Open
web\index.htmlin Chrome or Edge and click "Connect", or use the Android app. The tour shows you around.
Your backup lives in
Documents\tankg_installer\backup_<date>. It's your only way back to the factory firmware, so copy it somewhere safe and keep it to yourself.UltraRig is free and I build it in my spare time. If it makes your rig better, you can buy me a coffee.
Found a bug? Leave the report box ticked at the end of the installer, use "Send report to the developer…" in the control page, or open an issue.
Tested on the author's Tank-G v2 on factory 98. The v1 packages and the Tank-B builds are the same code built for those boards; Tank-B testers on #10 and #15 helped map its panel.

alpha9-test1UltraRig alpha 9 test 1 for the Tank-B (and Tank-G) v1 and v2Beta3 files
[no-email]
UltraRig alpha 9 test 1 (firmware M5.27) for the M-VAVE Tank-B v1 and v2 with factory firmware 100, and the Tank-G v1 and v2.
This is a test build for the Tank-B. The same package also installs on a Tank-G: the installer picks the right firmware from what your pedal says. If you have a Tank-G and alpha 8 works fine for you, you don't need this one.
I don't have a Tank-B myself. I tested the install, the update and the way back to factory on my own pedal set up as a Tank-B v2 with factory firmware 100, and all of them worked. It hasn't been used with a real bass yet, so your feedback is what decides when this goes out for everyone.
This is an alpha: expect bugs. It works well, but it's a community project that keeps changing, so you use it at your own risk, at home or on stage.

What's new
- Tank-B support. The panel works as printed: SUSTAIN and ATTACK control the compressor, MOD FX1 and FX2 the modulation, SPACE TIME and MIX the delay (or the reverb if there is no delay). In Live mode the footswitches are A SPACE, B MOD, C AMP and D COMP.
- The tuner reads the low B of a 5-string bass, and the tuner page switches to the bass strings by itself.
- New 6-band graphic EQ block.
- "Clean" on the drives, to blend your dry signal back in and keep the low end.
- "Low cut" on chorus, flanger and phaser, so the lows stay solid.
- The noise gate and the compressor behave better with low notes.
No bass captures or cab IRs come with it: TYPE and IR CAB pick the captures and IRs you load from the web page. Everything new for bass also works on the Tank-G. The full list is in

Not sure which one you have? The installer tells you, and it refuses a package made for the other board.
What's new since alpha 7
- Footswitch taps are never missed, even while the pedal is busy. Fast scene taps add up: tap "next scene" three times and you land three scenes ahead.
- No click when a scene change moves the mix of a parallel branch: the mix glides.
- Turning the amp back on sounds clean, with no leftover tail or thump.
- A likely cause of rare restarts under heavy load is gone.
- A new installer: a new look with one big button per screen, plain messages, only the options that fit your pedal, the checklist first, no black windows flashing, and a big button to send me a report if something goes wrong. Opened the package for the other model? One button downloads the right one.
- Tank-G v2 pedals with the other memory chip install (since alpha 7.1).
- An anonymous note at the end of each install, so I can see how installs go: what was done and how it went, no personal data. Click "Don't send it" to turn it off.
- "Custom" brings back your own footswitch setup after you try the Factory layout.
- Small fixes.

What's new since alpha 7
- Tank-G v2 pedals with a different memory chip can now install. Before, the installer took them for a v1 and stopped.
- Clearer messages when the installer stops, and the pedal turns back on by itself.
- A big button to send the report on every error screen, so I can see what happened and fix it.
- No more black windows flashing, and the safety checklist comes first: the work starts only after you tick it and click "Confirm and start".
- The installer only shows the options that fit your pedal: "Install" on a factory pedal, "Update" or "Go back to the factory firmware" on a pedal with UltraRig.

Not sure which one you have? The installer tells you, and it refuses a package made for the other board.
What's new since alpha 6
- The knobs on the pedal work. MASTER sets the volume. If the pedal sounds quiet after updating, turn MASTER up.
- Footswitches like the factory pedal, now by default:
- Tap A to D to pick a preset. A+B and C+D change the bank (8 banks of 4).
- Tap B+C for Live mode: the footswitches turn your effects on and off, and the knobs shape the sound.
- Hold B+C for the tuner.
- Holding a footswitch for 1 second saves your sound to that slot, as on the factory firmware.
- Prefer scenes? Pick "Scenes" in "Footswitches & lights…". If you had set your own footswitch actions, they're kept.
- Three new reverbs: Plate, Spring and Cloud, with huge ambient tails you can freeze. Hall, Room and Shimmer sound richer and more natural. Your old presets still load, with the new reverb sound.
- Better modulation and delay: brighter chorus, flanger and vibrato, modulation that follows the tempo, and a Low cut on the delay to keep the repeats out of the way of your playing.
- Smoother preset changes, with fewer gaps and dropouts.
- Update notice: the control page tells you when a new version is out.
- Fixed a rare freeze right after updating.
Not tested by hand yet: the knobs and the new footswitch modes. If something feels off, please report it.

UltraRig alpha 6 (firmware M5.17) for the M-VAVE Tank-G v1 and v2 with factory firmware 97 or 98.
This is an alpha. Expect bugs, and don't rely on it for a gig yet. The pedal's knobs don't do anything yet: everything is adjusted from the control page or the Android app.

Not sure which one you have? The installer tells you, and it refuses a package made for the other board.
What's new since alpha 5
- Factory firmware 98 is supported. M-VAVE's current M-UPGRADE installs 98, so you no longer have to avoid it. UltraRig was tested on 98 on the author's Tank-G v2: the check, installing, updating and going back to the factory firmware 98, byte for byte. The v1's 98 has the same boot loader and memory layout and is accepted too, but it hasn't been tried on a v1 yet: if you have one, I'd love a report. A pedal on 98 shows up on USB with a new id; the installer knows it.
- "Act on press" is on by default on all four footswitches: the short press acts the moment you press, not when you lift your foot. Holding still triggers the long press after 1 s. If you had saved your global settings before, your choice stays; change it in Footswitches.
- Safer return to the factory firmware. The installer now records which sectors a return to factory was writing, so an interrupted return is never mistaken for another kind of interrupted write, and it refuses a "before_restore_" folder picked by mistake (that folder holds UltraRig, not the factory firmware). If the backup shows up again after you chose to finish with UltraRig, it asks again.
- Smaller fixes: screen readers no longer get stuck on a hidden button after closing Stage or Settings (it happened when Stage was opened without a click that focused its button, as in Safari).
Presets from alpha 5 and earlier load as they were.
Updating from alpha 5 or older
Unzip the package for your board, run
UltraRig-Installer.exe(on the v1, as administrator) and click "Update UltraRig". Your presets, captures and IRs are kept. Then use theweb\index.htmlfrom this package or the new app. Updating from alpha 3 or older also brings everything from alpha 4 and 5: see the alpha 5 notes.Already on UltraRig and want factory 98?
Go back to the factory firmware first (installer: "Go back to the factory firmware", with your backup), update the pedal to 98 with M-VAVE's M-UPGRADE, and install UltraRig again. That makes a new backup of your 98. Keep the old one too: a backup made on 97 can't restore a pedal that is now on 98, because 98 changes the boot loader.
New installation
Your Tank-G needs factory firmware 97 or 98. If it has 96, 53 or any older version, update it first with M-VAVE's M-UPGRADE from m-vave.com/download (it installs 98). That update puts the factory presets, amps and cabs back, so save your own with M-EFCS before. Then install UltraRig. Rebrands (Lekato, Playwell, Yuimer, NMD) haven't been tested. The installer checks your pedal before writing anything and, if it isn't supported, stops without changing anything. If yours isn't on the list, open an issue.
- Download the package for your board and unzip it (for example on the Desktop). Keep the folder together:
UltraRig-Installer.exeneeds the_internalfolder and the_app.bin/_app.jsonfiles next to it. - Read
README.txtinside and follow it. Pedal on, connected directly to the computer, M-EFCS and M-UPGRADE closed, other USB MIDI / audio devices unplugged. - Double-click
UltraRig-Installer.exe(on the v1, run it as administrator). Click "Install UltraRig", tick the checklist and click Start. If Windows asks to format a disk, click Cancel: that disk is the pedal. - It backs up the whole memory of the pedal first, then writes UltraRig and restarts the pedal. Do not unplug or switch off the pedal until the window says UltraRig is installed.
- Open
web\index.htmlin Chrome or Edge, click "Connect" and choose "USB Serial Device (COMn)", or use the Android app. Once connected, the button shows "Tank-G v2" or "Tank-G v1"; click it for the firmware version, "Copy diagnostics", "Send report to the developer…" and "Disconnect".

- Tank-G v2:
alpha5UltraRig alpha 5 for the Tank-G v1 and v2Beta3 files
UltraRig alpha 5 (firmware M5.16) for the M-VAVE Tank-G v1 and v2 with factory firmware 97.
This is an alpha. Expect bugs, and don't rely on it for a gig yet. The pedal's knobs don't do anything yet: everything is adjusted from the control page or the Android app.
Alpha 5 has the same firmware as alpha 4 (M5.16). What changes is the control page, the Android app and the installer.
Which file do I download?
- Tank-G v2:
UltraRig-alpha5-v2-win.zip - Tank-G v1:
UltraRig-alpha5-v1-win.zip - Android app (optional, controls the pedal over Bluetooth):
UltraRig-alpha5-android.apk
Not sure which one you have? The installer tells you, and it refuses a package made for the other board.
What's new since alpha 4
- "Send report to the developer…" If something goes wrong, you can send me a report in one click. The button is in the connection menu (next to "Copy diagnostics"), in Settings, in the "pedal is not responding" message and in the "Lost the pedal" message of the control page and the app, and on the first and last screens of the installer and on the result screen of the check tool. You can add what happened and an email if you want a reply; both are optional. "Show what is sent" shows the whole report before you send it. It contains the session log and the pedal's state (preset and scene, the chain, CPU and memory, global settings and your preset names), or the installer's log files. It never contains your backups, a copy of the pedal's memory, your captures or your IRs, and your Windows user name is removed from file paths. It needs internet; if it can't be sent, you can save it as a file instead.
- A clear demo. The control page's demo now has a "Demo · not connected to a pedal" banner under the header, so it is never mistaken for a connected pedal. It says how to use your own pedal from where you are: on an Android phone with Chrome, connect over Bluetooth; on an iPhone or a browser without Bluetooth, install the Android app; on a computer, use Chrome or Edge, or the app. "Exit demo" takes you back to the Connect screen. The demo's IN and OUT meters stay still, striped in gray and labeled "demo", so they don't look like real signal. Screen readers hear "Tank-G demo (not connected)".
- Notifications on Stage behave better. An opened notification no longer closes after 30 s while your keyboard focus is in it or your mouse is over it. Opening one with a tap or a click on "More" no longer keeps it open forever: it closes after 30 s without use. Opening it from the keyboard scrolls it so you can reach "Less".
- The installer finishes an interrupted "Go back to the factory firmware" safely. Before, "Update UltraRig" could put UltraRig over a half-restored pedal. Now it notices that the last thing written was an unfinished return to factory (from this computer's records or from what is in the pedal's memory), writes nothing, and points you to "Go back to the factory firmware" with the same backup, also when that backup is on a USB stick. If the backup is gone and the return had already written the factory amps and IRs, it offers to finish with UltraRig instead (it always asks first, and going back to factory stays the recommended option).
- The installer asks before installing an older version. If the package is older than the UltraRig on the pedal, "Update UltraRig" shows both versions and asks, because an older version may read presets saved by a newer one wrongly. Reinstalling the same version works as before.
- Clearer installer messages in loader mode. When the pedal shows up as a "WL82 UBOOT" disk, the window says not to switch it off yet and when "Update UltraRig" is the right button and when it isn't (after an interrupted return to factory). If the pedal's memory chip could not be read properly, it says so and asks you to keep the pedal on and connected and try again.
- Smaller fixes: with Stage open, screen readers announce when the pedal disconnects and reconnects; on a phone, Esc in the CPU or MEM breakdown no longer leaves the focus on a hidden control.
Presets from alpha 4 and alpha 3 load as they were.
Updating from alpha 4
The firmware is the same, so there is nothing to install on the pedal. Unzip the package for your board and use its
web\index.html, or install the new Android app over the old one. Your presets, captures and IRs don't change. Running "Update UltraRig" anyway is harmless: it reinstalls the same version and keeps your presets, captures and IRs.Updating from alpha 3 or older
Unzip the package for your board, run
UltraRig-Installer.exe(on the v1, as administrator) and click "Update UltraRig". Your presets, captures and IRs are kept. Then use theweb\index.htmlfrom this package or the new app. This also brings everything that came in alpha 4 (the memory breakdown and costs in the "+" menu, big reverbs in pieces, scenes, the capture's Gain and tone, and more): see the alpha 4 notes.New installation
Your Tank-G needs factory firmware 97. Don't update it to M-VAVE's new 98 (October 2026; the current M-UPGRADE installs 98): UltraRig doesn't support 98 yet, support is being tested. If your pedal has 96, 53 or any other version older than 97, update it to 97 first with M-VAVE's own package: on m-vave.com/download, TANK-G section, download the "older firmware package" (TANK-G.zip), unzip it and run
M-UPGRADE-NTFS.exewith the pedal connected. That update puts the factory presets, amps and cabs back, so save your own with M-EFCS before. Then install UltraRig. (If you already installed UltraRig over a 96, "Go back to the factory firmware" still brings it back with its backup.) Newer versions and rebrands (Lekato, Playwell, Yuimer, NMD) haven't been tested. The installer checks your pedal before writing anything and, if it isn't supported, stops without changing anything. If yours isn't on the list, open an issue.- Download the package for your board and unzip it (for example on the Desktop). Keep the folder together:

What's new since alpha 3
-
See what fits before you add it. The "+" menu shows what each effect costs (CPU ticks and, now, memory in KB) and marks the ones that don't fit right now with the reason, for example "needs 88 KB, 36 KB free". Hover or click the CPU and MEM meters for a breakdown: how much is free, the biggest block a new effect can take right now, every block in the chain sorted by what it uses, and a "Still fits" line ("1 delay, 3+ choruses, no shimmer"). Click a row to select that block. The MEM bar is split by block color.
-
Big reverbs use memory in pieces. Before, a Hall/Plate, Shimmer or Hybrid needed one large free block, so it could fail with "50% free". Now the pedal splits them across the free memory it has: on the author's pedal a second Hall/Plate that didn't fit before goes in, in 2 pieces, and sounds exactly the same (checked sample by sample). The "+" menu says "fits in pieces" and the memory breakdown shows the total usable memory. Up to 4 Hall/Plate, Shimmer or Hybrid blocks fit at once.
-
Footswitch timing and the tap light are back to normal. Since the faster clock of late October, a long press was 0.9 s instead of 1 s, a double tap 273 ms instead of 300, and the tap light blinked 10 % fast, out of step with the delay. The delay time and the tap tempo itself were always right.
-
Clearer messages. Notifications are bigger cards in the page's style, with a colored edge (red error, gold warning, cyan done), a title and a short text. They stay where they don't cover the controls you use next; errors stay until you close them (or 8 s). A memory or CPU error has a button that opens the breakdown. There's no "Connected" message anymore: the connection button already shows the pedal.
-
Snapshots are now called scenes. A preset is a full sound; its 4 scenes are variations of that sound that you switch with your feet: the same blocks, each with its own on/off and knob settings. Switching is instant and delays and reverbs keep ringing. The tabs next to the preset name now read "Scene 1" to "Scene 4" (a named scene shows its name under "SCENE N"), and hovering the mouse over one explains what it is, the shortcuts and, once the control page has read your footswitch setup, which footswitch selects it. The rest of the control page and the app follow: "Only scene N" and "All scenes" when saving, the "Scenes" quick setup, "Next scene" and "Previous scene" on the footswitches. Your presets and their scenes load as before.
-
Gain and tone for the capture. The AMP editor has a new "Gain and tone" group. Gain (-12 to +12 dB) comes first and pushes the capture harder, like the gain knob of an amp: more Gain, more breakup. Then Bass (150 Hz), Mid (650 Hz), Treble (2 kHz) and Presence (4.5 kHz), ±12 dB each, and Volume (-24 to +12 dB) to even out the level when you raise Gain. Volume is the old capture level knob, which used to be called Gain. Everything is saved with the preset and with each scene. At 0 the capture sounds exactly as before and costs no CPU.
-
Trim meter. In the "Input" group of the AMP editor, next to "Calibrate…", the ring around the "Input trim" knob shows the level going into the capture compared with the level it expects: cold, on target, hot or clipping, with the dB you are off. Strum hard and aim for the green zone. Gain adds to the trim, so the meter shows both.
-
New Shimmer defaults: mix 34 % and shimmer 22 % (before: 40 and 55). Shimmers already saved in a preset keep their settings.
-
Windows shows the pedal as "Tank-G UltraRig" instead of "USB Composite Device".
-
Save > All scenes no longer leaves a block switched off. With little free memory, a block could end up switched off in another scene ("missing=1") and be saved that way. Fixed in the firmware, and as a safety net the control page checks every scene: if one comes back with blocks that could not be switched on (not enough CPU or memory), the save stops and tells you instead of saving them switched off.
-
A safer installer. Before writing anything it now also checks that the firmware the pedal reports matches what is really in its memory, that only one pedal (or device of the same family) is connected, that the backup folder is writable and has room, and that its files are all there. Every case it doesn't support stops before writing, with a message that says what to do. If a previous install or update was cut off, "Update UltraRig" finishes it only when it can prove it's the same pedal (its backup on this computer). "Go back to the factory firmware" can now use a backup from another folder or a USB stick ("Use another backup folder…").
-
Going back to factory is safer. It writes the pedal back exactly as the backup (checked byte by byte afterwards), picks the board from the hardware and not from what the firmware says, can use a backup from a USB stick ("Use another backup folder…"), and tells you what to watch out for if you then update with M-VAVE's M-UPGRADE.
-
Firmware 96 and 53 or older: the installer now asks you to update to 97 first with M-VAVE's own package (m-vave.com/download), because 96 uses a different memory layout. Nothing is written until then.
Also in alpha 4 (if you downloaded the October 29 update of alpha 3, you already have these):
- Presets and scenes read as one thing: the preset name sits on top of the chain and its four scenes are tabs right next to it, with the save button. On the phone the preset name and the scenes share the bottom strip.
- The connection button shows the pedal ("Tank-G v2", with a USB or Bluetooth icon) and opens a small menu with the firmware version, "Copy diagnostics" and "Disconnect". The green "connected" pill is gone.
- The effects chain is centered, also when it wraps to two rows.
- CPU and memory at a glance: under the CPU bar you see the ticks still free for effects (the same unit as each block's cost), and under the MEM bar the free effects memory in KB. Memory is separate from CPU: a block can need little CPU and still not fit, because delays and reverbs use the most memory. The "not enough memory" message says how much is left.
- A "−" button on each parallel branch: an empty branch is removed right away, a branch with blocks asks first and is deleted with them. The other branch stays in the chain. Right-click also offers "Remove empty branch".
- Amp heads no longer show a footswitch: switch them off with a double click or Space, like the Cab IR.
- Save > All scenes is silent: the output is muted while it goes through the scenes, and the tuner goes back to how it was.
- Unsaved changes are tracked much more reliably: a footswitch press, a scene or preset change, or a USB/Bluetooth cut in the middle of an edit or a save no longer loses changes or marks them as saved by mistake. Edits made just before a short disconnection are kept when the pedal comes back. Input and output gain stay in sync with the pedal.
- Knobs with more contrast, a bigger "save scene" button, and the welcome tour shows the real pedal.
Presets from alpha 3 load in alpha 4 as they were. A preset that uses the capture's Gain and tone (any of those knobs away from 0, in the preset or in a scene) can't be read by alpha 3 or older; with all of them at 0 it is saved as before and alpha 3 still reads it.

(96 was accepted up to now, but its memory is laid out differently from 97's; if you already installed UltraRig over a 96, "Go back to the factory firmware" still brings it back with its backup.) Not sure which one you have? The installer tells you, and it refuses a package made for the other board.
What's new since alpha 2
- Tank-G v1 support. Same features as on the v2. On the v1 the output volume is set lower than the factory firmware on purpose: turn your amp or headphones down before the first note.
- Faster preset changes: a preset with another capture loads in about 110 ms (before: about 880 ms), with no audio cuts.
- No "tape noise" from the delay when you change snapshots: the repeats move to the new time with a short crossfade, and delay and reverb tails keep ringing.
- Blocks that did not fit in memory: a big reverb could stay silent when a delay was switched off in the same preset. Fixed.
- Snapshot names, shown on the snapshot buttons and in the Stage view.
- New control page and app: each effect looks like a pedal with its real knobs, a Stage view (big display for the pedalboard with the four footswitches, tempo, tuner and a screen lock), a new tuner, a footswitch panel that shows short, long and double press for all four at once, and a guided tour on the real screen.
- Parallel branches by dragging: drop a block above or below another to play both in parallel.
- Amp models look like amp heads, and the knobs are easier to read.
- Reload (F5) keeps the pedal connected.
- Everything works from the keyboard (knobs, blocks, menus, panels), with screen reader support.

web\index.htmlor the new app.- Presets and snapshots read as one thing: the preset name sits on top of the chain and its four snapshots are tabs right next to it, with the save button. On the phone the preset name and the snapshots share the bottom strip.
The "not enough memory" message now says how much is left.
- Save > All snapshots is silent: the output is muted while it goes through the snapshots, and the tuner goes back to how it was. If a snapshot comes back with blocks that could not be switched on (not enough CPU or memory), the save stops and tells you instead of saving them switched off.
- Unsaved changes are tracked much more reliably: a footswitch press, a snapshot or preset change, or a USB/Bluetooth cut in the middle of an edit or a save no longer loses changes or marks them as saved by mistake. Edits made just before a short disconnection are kept when the pedal comes back. Input and output gain stay in sync with the pedal.
- Knobs with more contrast, a bigger "save snapshot" button, and the welcome tour shows the real pedal.
Presets saved with alpha 3 can't be read by alpha 2 or older.
Updating from alpha 2
Unzip the package for your board, run
UltraRig-Installer.exeand click "Update UltraRig". Your presets, captures and IRs are kept.New installation
Your Tank-G needs factory firmware 96 or 97. Don't update it to M-VAVE's new 98 (October 2026; M-UPGRADE now installs 98): UltraRig doesn't support 98 yet, support is being tested. Firmware 53 and older aren't supported either. The installer checks this and stops if the version isn't supported.
- Download the package for your board and unzip it (for example on the Desktop). Keep the folder together:
UltraRig-Installer.exeneeds the_internalfolder and the_app.bin/_app.jsonfiles next to it. - Read
README.txtinside and follow it. Pedal on, connected directly to the computer, M-EFCS closed, other USB MIDI / audio devices unplugged.
Your backup is in
Documents\tankg_installer\backup_<date>. It is the only way back to the factory firmware (installer: "Go back to the factory firmware"). Don't delete it: copy it somewhere safe and never share it.Documentation:
docs\(English) anddocs\es\(Spanish). Bug reports: open an issue.Requirements: Tank-G v1 or v2 with factory firmware 96 or 97, Windows 10/11, USB data cable, Chrome or Edge. For the app: Android 7 or later with Bluetooth. Tested on the author's Tank-G v2. The v1 package is the same code built for the v1 board; alpha 2 for the v1 was tested on a v1 by a tester.

- Tank-G v2:
alpha2-v1UltraRig alpha 2 for the Tank-G v1 (closed test)Beta2 files
First UltraRig build for the Tank-G v1 (firmware M5.12, same features as alpha 2). Closed test, v1 only: the installer refuses a v2, and the v2 package refuses a v1.
- The output volume is set lower than the factory firmware on purpose. Turn your amp or headphones down before the first note.
- The installer backs up the whole pedal first. "Go back to the factory firmware" in the same program restores it.
- Run UltraRig-Installer.exe as administrator. Answer Yes to its questions; click Cancel only if Windows itself asks to format a disk.
Build b (2026-10-28): runs at the factory clock (360 MHz). The first v1 build ran faster and the pedal dropped out a few seconds after starting; it was removed.
Use at your own risk. Not made, endorsed or supported by M-VAVE.
Android app (optional, controls the pedal over Bluetooth): UltraRig-alpha2-android.apk. Install it, switch the pedal on and tap Connect in the app.

alpha1UltraRig alpha 1 (closed alpha)Beta1 file
UltraRig alpha 1 (firmware M5.10) for the M-VAVE Tank-G v2 with factory firmware 96 or 97.
Run the UltraRig Check first, send the report, and install only if it says READY. The installer repeats the same safety checks and refuses any other pedal, but the check report lets us catch problems before anything is written.
This is an alpha. Expect bugs, and don't rely on it for a gig yet.

check1UltraRig Check 1.5 (read-only pre-install check, any Tank-G)Beta1 file
UltraRig Check 1.5: read-only pre-install check for the M-VAVE Tank-G (any version).
It runs every step of the UltraRig installer except erasing or writing the pedal's memory: it cannot change or damage the pedal. It takes a few minutes and writes one report file that you send back.
New in 1.5 (2026-10-31): it recognizes factory firmware 98 (M-VAVE's current M-UPGRADE installs it) and has a "Send report to the developer…" button. Since 1.4: a normal window instead of a command prompt, in Spanish or English. It shows a short checklist, asks its questions with Yes / No buttons, warns you to click Cancel if Windows asks to format a disk, and at the end copies the report to your Desktop and tells you what to do with it.
- On a Tank-G v2 with factory firmware 97 or 98 it tells you if your pedal is ready for UltraRig.
- On a Tank-G v1 it asks whether you want to let it READ the pedal (read-only) for the v1 compatibility work. You choose.
- On any other pedal it only records what Windows knows about it. Please send that report too.
- Download
UltraRig-check1.5-win.zipbelow and unzip the whole folder (for example to the Desktop). - Double-click
UltraRig-Check.exe. If Windows warns about an unknown publisher, choose "More info" and then "Run anyway". - Follow the window. If Windows asks to format a disk, click Cancel: that disk is the pedal.
- At the end, send only the file
UltraRig-check-<date>-<id>.json(it is on your Desktop) to the person who gave you UltraRig, or through a Check report issue. Never send thebackup_<date>folder.
If the pedal stays dark or silent at the end: switch it off with its power switch, wait 10 seconds and switch it on. If it still does not turn on, plug a USB-C charger into the pedal and switch it on again. Its memory is never written.
