  1. v0.4.0rome v0.4.0 — desktop GUI/CLI + Android companion appLatest3 files

Everything in one place: the rome CLI, the rome-gui desktop app (macOS/Windows), and the new Android companion app, all for the Teenage Engineering SP-1 running marisko.

    Install (CLI, one line)

    macOS / Linux:

    curl -sSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jackiscool123123121/rome/main/install.sh | sh

    Windows (PowerShell):

    irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jackiscool123123121/rome/main/install.ps1 | iex

As always: run rome format before loading music onto a fresh device.

    Desktop GUI

Download RomeGUI-macos.zip or RomeGUI-windows.zip below, unzip, and run — it self-installs the rome CLI to your PATH on first launch. Manage songs, build multi-song transfer queues, flash firmware, pack/share song bundles, and read diagnostics.

macOS: no more Access denied on USB — a claim-retry loop handles the transient Apple CDC driver conflict automatically.

    Android companion app

Download RomeAndroid-v0.1.0-debug.apk below (enable "install unknown apps" for your browser/file manager to install it). USB-OTG connection to the SP-1, battery status, and song upload from your phone.

    • Battery: live-verified against real hardware.
    • Song upload: opcodes, payload layout, and the IMA-ADPCM encoding were extracted by disassembling this repo's own compiled rome binary, then confirmed end-to-end against a real device (uploaded a disposable test song, verified it in the catalog, removed it cleanly). Full trail in rome-android/romecore/BRIDGE_TODO.md.
    • The Android emulator can't reach real USB devices, so a "Use Demo Device" mode is included for UI testing without hardware — real use needs a physical Android phone.

    CLI features

    • Firmware flash over the SP-1 bootloader
    • Song management: add (4 stems or one combined 8ch WAV), list, remove, reorder
    • Diagnostics: codec bring-up, feed-thread/eMMC health, EXT_CSD dump, raw block read/decode
    • rome update — rebuild and reinstall the latest CLI from source

    Changelog since v0.2.0

    • v0.3.0: rome-gui desktop app, combined multi-stem WAV support, multi-song transfer queue, bundle packing/sharing, self-installing CLI
    • v0.3.1: fixed missing button icons in rome-gui; added rome song swap
    • v0.3.2: Info tab (storage/battery summary), battery status in rome info (needs marisko v0.5.0+), GUI self-install now uses ~/.cargo/bin consistently
    • v0.4.0: macOS USB-claim auto-retry/elevate fix
    • android-v0.1.0 (folded into this release): Android companion app
