  1. v0.4.0v0.4.0 - The one with the manual savingLatest1 file
    • The currently active preset and pattern are no longer automatically saved
    • The load UI screen has been redesigned to make better use of the entire display
    • In the load UI, one of the brightly lit pads (selected preset, pattern or sample) softly pulses. This indicates that this item will get cleared when long-pressing the Clear-pad
    • The load UI now works as follows:
      • Short press
        • Select this section to be cleared with the Clear pad
      • Long press (arrow at the right edge of the screen points up)
        • Load the pressed preset
        • Load the pressed pattern
        • Load/deactivate the pressed sample
      • Hold the Load-pad + long-press (arrow at the right edge of the screen points down)
        • Save current preset to selected slot
        • Save current pattern to selected slot
        • Open pressed sample in sample editor

There are many more improvements in this version, the full list can be found in the release notes

  2. v0.3.1v0.3.1 - The one with the parameters1 file

    Bugfixes

    • Corrects lfo rate mapping between OG and LPE firmware
    • Corrects delay time of unsynced delay
    • Restores CV A/B/X/Y input behavior
    • Removes audio/led glitches on reboot
  3. v0.3.0v0.3.0 - The one with the parameters1 file

This release provides a much cleaner way of interacting with the Plinky by implementing lots of small cleanups in how parameters are handled and displayed. Overall the experience should have less friction and feel more intuitive. Here are some of the most important changes:

    Visual parameter cleanup

    • Parameter categories, names and values no longer clash with other ui elements
    • Parameter icons, categories and names have been cleaned up where necessary
    • Parameter values use consistent font sizes and appropriate numbers of decimals
    • Modulated values are shown on the bottom row and stay visible when editing modulation depth
    • Time values are shown in intuitive fractions when synced and in (milli)seconds when unsynced
    • The leds of the edit strip (leftmost colum) have been cleaned up

    Functional parameter cleanup

    • All parameters now use their full range
    • All encoder-skips have been removed, each encoder turn now actually affects the parameter value
    • The edit strip no longer forces a notch at the center for bipolar parameters
    • Unused parameters can no longer be selected
    • Some parameters are now mapped more intuitively

    Updates

    • Arp and Latch are now real parameters and can be modulated
    • Arp, Seq and LFO synced timing now goes up to 32 bars
    • Microtone is now scale-aware - at 100% you can slide smoothly between any two pads regardless of note-distance
    • Holding shift now enables precision encoder editing - values move one step at a time
    • A global settings menu has been added on the Settings pad, which currently holds:
      • Settings: accelerometer sensitivity, encoder direction, midi in/out channel, cv quantization mode
      • Actions: reboot, touch calibration, cv calibration, revert presets

    Hardware/firmware compatibility

    • This firmware now runs on Plinky+
    • This firmware has some new functionality and a few parameters mapped differently than the OG firmware. On startup, presets saved on OG firmware will be updated to sound (practically) identical on LPE firmware
    • The new settings menu has an action called "OG Presets", which will perform the inverse process - making presets play properly on OG firmware again

There are many more improvements in this version, the full list can be found in the release notes

  4. v0.2.1v0.2.1 - The one with the timing1 file

    Release state: Beta

    • Presets saved in previous firmware versions may sound different
    • Encountering bugs that were not present in official firmware v0.B2 is likely

    Re-implementation of existing v0.B2 features

    • Restores touch and cv calibration procedures
    • Restores usb bootloader mode
    • Restores web editor functionality

This makes this firmware a feature-complete replacement for official firmware v0.B2

    Various small updates

    • Adds support for midi sustain (CC 64)
    • Some edge-case midi fixes
  5. v0.2.0v0.2.0 - The one with the timing1 file

    Release state: Alpha

    • Some features are not implemented:
      • There is no calibration procedure, the existing calibration file is used
      • The usb editor does not work
    • Presets saved in previous firmware versions may sound different
    • Encountering bugs that were not present in official firmware v0.B2 is likely

    Highlights:

    • External clock follow is more robust
    • Adds midi sync out
    • Adds synced lfos (lfo rate mapping is different from older firmware versions)
    • Adds 16th and 8th note swing
    • Adds arp output over euro jacks and midi
