  1. v0.2DigiSwarm 0.2 (pre-release)Beta7 files

DigiSwarm 0.2: an effect on fxkit, with a mixer, LFOs and p-locks. A beta (pre-release).

    What's new:

    • MIXER on AMP: IN L, IN R (the inputs' levels on the Digitone mixer's own law: 32 is unity, 127 is +24 dB, as loud as the Digitone's own input), L PAN, R PAN, BAL, VOL, WDTH
    • Two LFOs on LFO (press again for LFO 2), on the stock LFO page: its knobs, WAVE and SPH as one wave, DEST's list (only DigiSwarm's controls and the mixer's; YES picks), the stock's rates
    • P-locks kept in the pattern: RECORD, then hold a trig and turn any control. They are saved, copied and played with the pattern, in one track's lock table (SETUP's LOCK TRACK, T4 unless you pick another; that track should play nothing of its own)
    • MIDI hands the screen to the stock UI for the MIDI tracks while DigiSwarm keeps playing; its Mod Menu entry brings the page back. NO turns it off
    • Presets are gone: the project keeps its controls, mixer and LFOs, and a project saved with 0.1 opens it at its defaults. The MIDI CC chart is the same

Tested on a Digitone mk1 by its author (built before the effects' rename, which changed only names); also checked in digikit's emulator on OS 1.43 and 1.44. Still a beta; not yet run on a Digitone Keys. The README has the pages, the keys, the MIDI chart and how it works.

    Install

On elekloader's web page: tick DigiSwarm and the + beside its Needs fxkit; the page takes the core. Or build it with elekloader from its main branch (its buffers are in the Digitone profile's bulk area, which the 0.4.0 app does not know):

  2. v0.1.2DigiSwarm 0.1.2 (pre-release)Beta5 files

DigiSwarm is the new name of DigiCosm. Same code as 0.1, under its own name: the mod, its Mod Menu entry, its pages and the effects that carried another product's name are renamed. Projects saved with 0.1 load in 0.1.2. This repository was irpina/digicosm; the old address still leads here.

A beta (pre-release). 0.1 runs on a Digitone mk1, its author's, where it loads and works as expected; 0.1.2 was checked in digikit's emulator on OS 1.43 and 1.44.

An effects engine for the Digitone mk1's audio inputs: eleven engines (SHARDS, SEQ, GLIDE, MIST, DRONE, RAKE, CHOPS, STUTTER, ARP, PATTERN, WARP) with four variations each, a 60-second looper with overdub and undo, Hold, Reverse, a resonant filter, pitch modulation and a reverb with four rooms, in time with the Digitone's tempo, and MIDI CCs for its controls and looper. DIGISWARM in core-dn1's Mod Menu (hold a track key) opens its page; while it is open it owns the audio engine (the synths are muted) and the screen, and NO gives both back. Needs core-dn1 3.2.

Its MIDI CCs follow the Hologram Electronics Microcosm's published CC chart, so a controller set up for that pedal works with it too. DigiSwarm is not affiliated with Hologram Electronics and uses none of its code. The README has the pages, the keys, the MIDI chart and how it works.

    Install

DigiSwarm needs core-dn1 3.2 or newer and elekloader from its main branch (or elekloader's web page): its buffers are in the Digitone profile's bulk area, which the 0.4.0 app does not know.

        --out Digitone_OS1.44-digiswarm.syx --version SW01

With several effects mods in one build, use core-dn1 4.0 in 3.2's place: it has the RAM for them. Flash the .syx with Elektron Transfer; the stock OS file always restores the unit.

  3. v0.1.1DigiCosm 0.1.1 (pre-release)Beta5 files

A pre-release. 0.1 runs on a Digitone mk1; 0.1.1 changes only the mono input and was checked in digikit's emulator on OS 1.43 and 1.44.

    What's new in 0.1.1

    • A mono input (SETUP's INPUT on MONO, the source on input L) now comes out of both sides. That covers the dry, the bypassed signal and every engine's effect, all centred.
      • In 0.1 the dry stayed on the left, and MOSAIC, TUNNEL, PATTERN and WARP leaned to one side.
      • Checked with white noise on the left input only: over 5 s, right against left is between 0.87 and 1.07 for every engine. BLOCKS and INTERRUPT are the exception, because their random placements only average out over a longer time.

Everything else is DigiCosm 0.1: eleven Microcosm-style engines with four variations each, a 60-second looper, 16 presets and the Microcosm's MIDI CCs (README). The sources are elekloader's mods/digicosm-dn1 at 7835e1c (#80).

    Install

DigiCosm needs core-dn1 3.2 or newer and elekloader from its main branch (or elekloader's web page). Its 26 MB of buffers are in the Digitone profile's bulk area, which the 0.4.0 app does not know.

        --out Digitone_OS1.44-digicosm.syx --version DC11

With several effects mods in one build (DigiChroma, the GAS pedals), use core-dn1 4.0 in 3.2's place: it has the RAM for them.

    Files

The two DigiCosm files are built from this repository's main at da4f293, byte for byte the same as elekloader's mods/digicosm-dn1 builds. The core files are elekloader's core-dn1-v3.2 pre-release's.

  4. v0.1DigiCosm 0.1 (pre-release)Beta4 files

A pre-release. It runs on a Digitone mk1, and was checked in digikit's emulator on OS 1.43 and 1.44.

DigiCosm is an effects engine for the Digitone mk1's two audio inputs, after the Hologram Microcosm, as an elekloader mod. Hold a track key and pick DIGICOSM in the Mod Menu: while its page is open it owns the audio engine (the synths are silent) and the screen, and NO gives both back. It is not affiliated with Hologram and uses none of its code.

    • Eleven engines, four variations each: MOSAIC, SEQ, GLIDE, HAZE, TUNNEL, STRUM, BLOCKS, INTERRUPT, ARP, PATTERN, WARP (trig keys 1-11, variations on 13-16), in time with the Digitone's tempo.
    • A page drawn like the Digitone's own, in its fonts: 1 Effect (Activity, Repeats, Shape, Filter, Mix, Time, Space, Loop Level), 2 Shift (gain, pitch modulation, resonance, effect volume, loop speed, room, fade), 3 Looper (HOLD, REV and BYP switches; LOOP, STOP, UNDO, CLR). LEFT/RIGHT or PAGE between them.
    • A 60-second stereo looper with an overdub layer and undo; quantize, burst, pre/post-FX, looper only. T1 and T2 are its two footswitches.
    • 16 presets saved with the project, and the Microcosm's MIDI CC map on the Digitone's auto channel.

    Install

DigiCosm needs core-dn1 3.2 and elekloader from its main branch: core-dn1 3.2 and the Digitone profile's bulk area (where DigiCosm keeps its 26 MB of buffers) are on elekloader's main branch, in no app release yet. The 0.4.0 app refuses DigiCosm.

Take the two files for your OS version:

    OSfiles
    1.43core-dn1-3.2.elemod, digicosm-0.1.elemod
    1.44core-dn1-3.2-os1.44.elemod, digicosm-0.1-os1.44.elemod
    python -m elekloader.patch --stock Digitone_and_Digitone_Keys_OS1.44.syx \
        --mod core-dn1-3.2-os1.44.elemod --mod digicosm-0.1-os1.44.elemod \
        --out Digitone_OS1.44-digicosm.syx --version DC01

Then flash the .syx with Elektron Transfer. The README has the steps and how to get back to stock (the stock OS file always restores the unit).

    Checked

On a Digitone mk1: it runs and works. In digikit's emulator, OS 1.43 and 1.44:

    • The synths go silent while DigiCosm is open and are back at once after NO, also with PLAY pressed meanwhile.
    • Every engine at every variation with plucked notes on the inputs; the whole render takes 30-55% of a block on the emulator's cycle clock, never more than stock's 56.6%.
    • The looper (record, play, overdub, undo, reverse, stop, erase), Hold, the presets, the three pages, the switches and the looper boxes, SETUP.
    • The MIDI CC map, 40 checks on each OS version.
    • core-dn1 3.2 alone passes the firmware check against stock.

Not yet: a run on a Digitone Keys (only its code path was checked). Loops are not saved (the Digitone's +Drive has no files a mod could write) and program changes are not mapped.

    Files

Built from elekloader's main at 574d7b4 (mods/digicosm-dn1 and mods/core-dn1); this repository's sources build the same two DigiCosm files.
