Performance and diagnostics rows in SETTINGS, as elekloader mods. They cover the Digitakt (mk1) on OS 1.53 and 1.54, and now the Digitone (mk1) and Digitone Keys on OS 1.43 and 1.44.

    • FAST AUDIO (Digitakt; on by default) runs the audio render's hot code from the free on-chip SRAM. It is the same code, so the audio is identical, and the DSP load is lower. Measured on a unit (1.53), the render went from 537 to 480 µs a block, and the DSP load from 80.5 to 72.0 %.
    • SYSTEM INFO shows CPU, DSP, RAM and free sample memory in the top bar. A read-only USB diagnostics channel answers tools/digiusb.py.

    What's new in 1.1.1

    • The Digitone mk1 and Digitone Keys on OS 1.44: SYSTEM INFO as digihealth-1.1-os1.44.elemod, with the Digitone's core for 1.44 (core-dn1-2.0a-os1.44.elemod).
      • It is the same mod as on 1.43, with 1.44's addresses (#5).
      • On 1.43, digihealth-1.1.elemod is 1.1's code as before.
    • The Digitakt files are rebuilt from the same source, and their code is 1.1's. Only their build record differs.

    • Other devices and OS versions: elekloader refuses a mod made for another device or OS version.
    • The cores: they are elekloader 0.4.0's, built from its mods/. The Windows and macOS apps bundle them from 0.4.0 on; from source, install the core with the mod.
    • Newer cores: digihealth needs only the hook bus, so it also links with the newer Digitone cores in the mod shop (2.3, 3.2).

    Install

    1. Get elekloader 0.4.0 or later, and your unit's stock OS file from Elektron (the .zip works as it is).
    2. In elekloader's window, Install from file the digihealth for your unit (from source, its core too). Tick it, and Build firmware.
    3. Send the .syx to the unit as you would any OS update.

Recovery: hold FUNC while powering on for the startup menu, then send the stock OS file. elekloader never changes the bootloader.

    Checked

In digikit's emulator, the Digitone on OS 1.44 with core-dn1-2.0a-os1.44.elemod:

    • Firmware check: against stock 1.44, every stage passes and every screen is identical.
    • SYSTEM INFO, switched on: it reads what 1.43 reads in the same session (CPU 14 %, DSP 12 % with a 59 % peak, RAM 13.8M), and it is drawn in the top bar.
    • USB diagnostics: a request reaches the SysEx hook and is answered through the stock sender.

    What's new in 1.1

    • The Digitone mk1 and Digitone Keys (OS 1.43): SYSTEM INFO, as digihealth-1.1.elemod, with the Digitone's core.
      • Its second page is free RAM alone: the Digitone has no sample memory.
      • FAST AUDIO is not ported to the Digitone: its render is different code, and less of its SRAM is free.
    • The Digitakt on OS 1.54, Elektron's release of 2026-09-30: the same Digitakt mod, as digihealth-1.0-os1.54.elemod. It needs elekloader 0.4.0. On 1.53, digihealth-1.0.elemod is 1.0's code as before.
    • Licence: GPL-2.0-or-later.

    Install

Recovery: hold FUNC while powering on for the startup menu, press TRIG 4 (OS UPGRADE), then send the stock OS file. elekloader never changes the bootloader.

It combines with digislicer and digineighbor on the Digitakt.

    Checked

    In digikit's emulator:

    • The Digitakt, OS 1.53 (1.0): with FAST AUDIO on, every output sample and the audio engine's state after every render are identical to stock's, in four scenarios, alone and with digislicer.
    • The Digitakt, OS 1.54:
      • Core + digihealth against stock 1.54 passes every stage, and the check's nine screens are identical, with FAST AUDIO on.
      • With digislicer and digineighbor, against the same four for 1.53, the FAST AUDIO script (on, playing, off, playing) is identical, screen for screen.
      • That emulator had no samples, so bit-exact audio has not been measured on 1.54.
    • The Digitone, OS 1.43:
      • Every stage passes, from the file's own bootstrap and updater to a scripted session, against stock. With SYSTEM INFO off, every screen is identical.
      • Switched on, the readout shows "CPU 58% DSP 54%/54%" and "RAM 13.8M"; the emulator's own measurement of stock is 58 % CPU.

The Digitone and OS 1.54 builds have not yet been tried on a unit.

Custom firmware is at your own risk. Not affiliated with Elektron.

  3. v1.0digihealth 1.02 files

Two SETTINGS rows for the Digitakt (mk1), OS 1.53, as one elekloader mod.

    • FAST AUDIO (on by default) runs the audio render's hot code from the free on-chip SRAM. It is the same code, so the audio is identical, and the DSP load is lower. Measured on a unit, the render went from 537 to 480 µs a block, and DSP load from 80.5 to 72.0 %. Untick it in SETTINGS to turn it off until the next power-on.
    • SYSTEM INFO shows CPU, DSP, RAM and free sample memory in the top bar. A read-only USB diagnostics channel answers tools/digiusb.py.

The README has the details and the safety nets.

core-2.0a.elemod is elekloader's hook bus, which every linkable mod needs. It is built from elekloader's mods/core and is the same file in every release that carries it.

    Install

    1. Get elekloader (Python 3.9+) and the stock Digitakt_OS1.53.syx from Elektron.

    2. In elekloader's window, Install from file both .elemod files, tick them, choose your stock file and Build firmware. Or:

      python -m elekloader.patch --stock Digitakt_OS1.53.syx \
          --mod core-2.0a.elemod --mod digihealth-1.0.elemod \
          --out Digitakt_OS1.53-health.syx --version DH10

    3. Send the .syx to the unit as you would any OS update.

Recovery: hold FUNC while powering on for the startup menu, then send the stock OS file. elekloader never changes the bootloader.

It combines with digislicer: add digislicer-1.0.elemod to the same build.

    Checked

    In digikit's emulator:

    • Bit-exact audio: with FAST AUDIO on, every output sample and the audio engine's state after every render are identical to stock's. This held in four scenarios, alone and with digislicer.
    • A cold boot through the real bootloader: FAST AUDIO comes on by itself, is unticked and ticked again. The audio is identical to stock's throughout; only where the recording ends moves, by one silent 1 ms block.

On a unit, in the custom builds this came from: FAST AUDIO and SYSTEM INFO.

Custom firmware is at your own risk. Not affiliated with Elektron.
