    Pre-release. CF WORKS ON HARDWARE (stock 1.05 + CF on an SP-808: boots, samples, saves, survives a power-cycle, faster than a ZuluIDE). Rosetta v2.00 itself and Rosetta + CF / EX + CF are not hardware-tested yet. The stable download stays v1.99.

    Rosetta Patcher for Windows, now with CF card support (beta):

    • Rosetta OS v2.00: VOICE engine (Narrator + vocoder, VOCODER routing preset), boots without a disk, EXIT goes back one level, LAB > DISK INFO.
    • CF card support (beta) checkbox: run a plain CF card on an IDE adapter (e.g. StarTech 35BAYCF2IDE) instead of the Zip. Works with Rosetta, or with Roland's stock OS (pick "Roland stock OS" plus SP808v1050.zip, or SP808EXv1001.zip for the SP-808EX).

    How CF works: the boot ROM already drives ATA cards. The OS only stalls on two Zip-only calls (about 1 s each, every disk check), and the patch skips them on CF. A Zip behaves exactly as before. Emulator-verified (read/write byte-exact, disk check OK on 1.05 and EX 1.001), then confirmed on a real SP-808. No Zip drive? The README shows how to install it over MIDI.

    To try CF:

    1. Write an SP-808 disk image raw onto the CF card.
    2. Install the PRG from your Zip / ZuluIDE as usual. Going from Rosetta to stock EX + CF, hold HOLD at power-on.
    3. Swap in the adapter, with the card as master.
    4. With Rosetta: LAB > DISK INFO shows what the unit sees.

    Please report results (card brand and size, adapter) on Discord. The EX build is for SP-808EX units only.
