  11. warps-v0.9Warps Parasite v0.91 file

Warps Parasite, an alternative firmware for Mutable Instruments Warps.

    Main added features:

    • An easy interface to switch between 9 modes, each determining a different function for the module. The stock mode (morph between algorithms) is now called Meta-mode, and is only one of 9. The easter egg (frequency-shifter) is another.
    • Most modes take the stock algorithms and go deeper into them, with two dimensions of control instead of one; some are completely new functionalities.
    • New features include: a dual chorus/flanger/slapback, a binaural panner with doppler-effect simulation, a dual bit-mangler, a Chebyschev waveshaper.

All features of the official firmware are left untouched and still accessible.

  12. frames-v1.1Frames Parasite v1.11 file

    Changelog: Euclidean sequencer:

    • Fixed click when envelopes were retriggered before the end of their course. Envelopes are now continuous.
    • Envelopes times have been tweaked (longer decays, shorter bursts at both ends).
    • Sequence length and envelope shape are now saved to pervasive storage and restored on load.
    • Fixed a bug that misaligned the channels when changing the length.

    Shift Register sequencer:

    • Changed the responses of knob setting random parameters to exponential. Makes it easier to find the center value.
  13. tides-v1.0Tides Parasite v1.01 file

First stable version of Tides Parasite. Changelog against v0.9beta3:

    • fixed a bug preventing the state to be saved correctly when coming from previous beta versions;
    • in Function generator mode at audio speed, "Low" now outputs a sub-oscillator, muted and reset by Clock (when not in PLL mode).
  14. tides-v0.9beta3Tides Parasite v0.9beta3Beta1 file

    Changelog:

    • No more timeout for choosing a scale: one exits quantizer mode via a long press on the Mode button.
    • Fixed a bug inhibiting permanent saving of the state of the module
    • Fixed a bug causing the level to be maxed out when switching scales/mode
    • Reduced the size of internal parabola tables, which generate saw/trianges at audio rate, to make space for new code. It should be unnoticeable.
    • Function generator: When Smoothness is fully CCW, outputs are now completely muted.
    • Quantizer: fixed glitches appearing when exactly in between two notes
    • Two-bumps: when not in PLL mode, clock randomizes both quality and harmonics choice parameters.
    • Two-bumps: better gain computation. Should result in louder and more consistent volumes.
    • Two-bumps: reduced slew on Pitch in PLL mode
    • Two-bumps: Change the order of decimation choices. It now goes: low quality (green), medium (black), high (red), which respects the panel markings
    • Two-drunks: Fixed a bug causing discontinuities in the Bi output
    • Two-drunks: when not in PLL mode, clock randomizes the Range parameter.
  15. tides-v0.9beta2Tides Parasite v0.9beta2Beta1 file

    Changelog:

    • added quantizer
    • added waveform compression
  16. tides-v0.9beta1Tides Parasite v0.9beta1Beta1 file

First pre-release of Tides Parasites. It adds the following modes to the module:

    • Two-bumps: a silky 14-voices harmonic oscillator with two spectral bumps or notches, control over centroids and width, harmonics selection, wave quality, a sub-oscillator, a 1-bit output, and a special harmonics shuffling output for unusual, random timbres.
    • Two-drunks: a complex duophonic random walk generator with selectable interpolation, driven by two altered clocks: one is jittery, the other simulates a biased coin toss. This mode is quite versatile and can be used as: an oscillator with PLL, a Bernoulli gate, a random trigger delay, a stepped, smooth or waveshaped random voltage generator, a random burst generator, a surprising filtered noise source... and probably more!

All features of the official firmware are left untouched and still accessible (with the exceptions mentioned below).

  17. frames-v1.0Frames Parasite v1.01 file

    Changelog:

    • Four additional memory banks to save your presets (sequences, mode, parameters etc.). To save the current state, long-press (>3s) on Add, select a bank by touching one of the five knobs (big knob is the startup state), and press Add again shortly to save. Pressing Del at this point would cancel the operation. To load a bank, long-press on Del, select a bank by touching one of the five knob (big knob will clear the current memory), and press Del again shortly to load. Add would cancel the load.
    • A new user interface to toggle between the module's different modes: press the two buttons at the same time, main LED will blink in white, select the mode by touching/wiggling one of the knobs, press a button again to enter the mode. Modes are: the original keyframer mode (big knob), an improved quad sequencer mode (knob 1), improved shift register sequencer mode (knob 2), original quad LFO mode (knob 3), new euclidean sequencer mode (knob 4).
    • The shift register sequencer, with new functions: random clock skip, sequence order randomization, variable register size. To recall, the idea is: you program a sequence with the big knob, knob 1 and the Add/Del buttons as in keyframer mode; you feed a clock to the Frame CV input; start with all knobs at noon. Each time a "step" event happens, output 1 take the next value in the sequence (like a traditional sequencer). Knob 2 determines when a "step" event happens: at noon, it happens at every clock tick. CCW, it happens every n clock tick (like a clock divider); CW, it randomly skips clock ticks with a smaller and smaller probability. Now, each time a "shift" happens, each output's value takes the previous value of the output on the left, thus "shifting" every outputs to the right. Knob 3 determines when a "shift" happens, with the same effect as Knob 2. If a "shift" happens but no "step", Output 1 takes by default the value of the last register; this is called a "feedback". The big knob also selects the total number of registers, from 1 to 16 (if it is less than 4, then Outputs 2-4 will not change values). Knob 4 randomizes the sequencer in two ways: at noon, everything behaves as described above; CCW, the order of the sequence is randomized more and more; CW, the value fed back to the first output is randomized more and more.
    • A quad Euclidean sequencer mode: four channels of euclidean rhythms, with selectable length, fill, rotation, and envelope shape. With the +10V offset switch on, you can use the outputs as triggers for external drums, but you can also feed tones/noise in the inputs, set the envelope of each channels and get the result from the mix out. Feed a clock to the Frame CV (big knob will glow). Knobs 1 to 4 set the fill pattern of each channel, from empty to full. The big knob sets the rotation of one channel to the next. If you long-press on the Add button, the big knob turns red; use the knobs to select the length of the pattern for each channel, from 1 to 16. Press any button to go back to main mode and edit the fill again. If you long-press on the Del button, the big knob turns green; use the knobs to select the envelope shapes of each channel, from a short burst (CCW) to a long, decaying envelope (noon) to a triangle (CW). These shapes are borrowed from Streams. Again, press any button to go back to main mode. Finally, Fr.Step and the keyframe LED output a complex combination of each channel's state; it can be used to modulate the incoming drum sounds or step a sequencer.
    • In quad sequencer mode, a long-press on Del will enter the step edition sub-mode (keyframe LED will be dim): Knobs 1-4 now edit the current step (not the one pointed by the big knob), and the big knob sets the total number of steps in the sequence (from 1 to the total number of keyframes). A long-press on Add will randomize the whole sequence. The Fr.Step outputs a trigger whenever the sequence resets to the first step.
    • In LFO mode, the two buttons now act respectively as phase reset and phase randomization. The Fr.Step output follows the keyframe LED: it is on half the cycle of oscillator 1.
  18. clouds-v1.3Clouds Parasite v1.31 file

    Changelog against v1.2:
