Ready-to-flash example effects for the Cleveland Music Co. Hothouse DSP Pedal. Use the Hothouse Flasher to flash any of these binaries to your Hothouse.

Beginning with this release, all binaries (except Earth, Mars & Venus) have a new gesture to put the Daisy Seed into DFU/flashable mode without pressing the buttons on the Daisy Seed: Hold down both foot switches for 2 seconds. You are now in DFU/flashable mode. This change was made to make it easier for effects to program a long press on FOOTSWITCH_1.

Added EchoKing MkII Tape Delay. - A reimagined version of the first EchoKing already in this repo. I forked the original code shortly after Linus Torvalds adapted it for his very cool GuitarPedal project. He initially converted the effect to C and, in the process, created spartan, elegant code that was pleasing to look at, but didn't sound very good. So, we tweaked and tuned to make it sound better, going down a rabbit hole trying to efficiently simulate the saturation curves of vacuum tubes and old tape. (We settled on a [5/4]-Padé approximant of
tanhf, if you're interested.)
That experience inspired me to revisit the EchoKing and make two major algorithmic changes: proper component-level modelling of the tube and solid-state transistor preamp circuits, and overhaul the tape write-path saturation to model variable-knee static curve, level-dependent HF rolloff (bias erasure), and envelope-gated hysteresis bias (probably better-stated as "tape-y stuff"). I also simplified the UI a wee bit and added the TAPE AGE switch for more creative uses. While I didn't use the [5/4]-Padé approximant Linus and I settled on (I reverted back to a bias-tunedtanhfapproach here), I did apply a new, nearly-obsessive need to accurately model ageing, unreliable and unpredictable analog circuits in DSP.
It is highly recommended that you refer to the README for any example you flash to your pedal. For example, if you flash echoking_delay.bin, refer to its README file to understand what the knobs and switches do.
A full list of the examples and links to their README files can be found on the wiki.

v26.05.1May 2026 Binaries (rev1)27 files
Ready-to-flash example effects for the Cleveland Music Co. Hothouse DSP Pedal. Use the Hothouse Flasher to flash any of these binaries to your Hothouse.
This drop is a small collection of DSP models of popular/iconic analog pedals:
- Amnesia Delay - A BBD-style delay loosely-modeled on the Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man.
- EchoKing Tape Delay - A digital model of the Maestro Echoplex family of tape delay units. Three models are selectable: the EP-1 (tube, wonky vintage), the EP-2 (tube, classic warm), and the EP-3 (solid state, tight and focused). Obviously, this one implements a "pre-amp only" mode 🤓
- Glowjob Photon Vibe - A reasonably accurate model of the original Shin-ei Uni-Vibe -- the photocell phaser/chorus pedal made famous by Jimi Hendrix and Robin Trower. I might be more proud of the name than I am of the effect.
- TriPhase Theorem - Sorta authentic digital models of three iconic 1970s analog phase shifter pedals in a single effect, switchable in real time: EHX Small Stone, MXR Phase 90 (earlier script version) and the MXR Phase 45.
And one more bonus example:
- LibreVerb - A stereo reverb based on Freeverb (Jezar at Dreampoint), adapted for the Hothouse with additional features like pre-delay, reverb modulation, advanced filtering and more.
These are not affiliated in any way with Gibson, Maestro, EHX, Shin-ei, or MXR. They are just a few of the various learning experiments I've been working on over many rainy weekends ... and maybe a bottle or two of bourbon 🥃 But I thought these five are decent enough to share.

v24.09.01Sep 2024 Binaries (rev 1)15 files
Updated example effects for the stereo version of the Hothouse. If you bought your Hothouse kit or pedal in the month of Sep 2024 or later, you probably have a stereo version. Look on the right edge of the main PCB for "Stereo" to confirm.
Use the Daisy Web Programmer to flash any of these binaries to your Hothouse. If it's the first time you've flashed one of these examples, you'll have to press the BOOT and RESET buttons as explained here.
[!IMPORTANT] NEW! After you flash any of these examples, you can reset the Daisy Seed into bootloader mode by HOLDING DOWN THE LEFT FOOT SWITCH FOR 2 SECONDS. The LEDs will alternately flash 3 times, and then the Daisy Seed will be ready for programming another example.
It is highly recommended that you refer to the README for any example you flash to your Hothouse. For example, if you flash
basic_multi_delay.bin, refer to its README file to understand what the knobs and switches do.A full list of the examples and their README files is on the repository home page.
v24.08.01Aug 2024 Binaries (rev 1)10 files
Use the Daisy Web Programmer to flash any of these pre-compiled binaries to your Hothouse.
NOTE: Mod_delay has been removed. It was accidentally compiled and added to this release in a non-functional state. Sorry!
