What's new

• SAVE > TOOLS > 7 CLEAR PROJ (#22). It frees the current project's sections A–D and empties its song. It asks first and can't be undone; the music playing stays. Until now a stored section could never be freed, so once A–D were taken the generator's SONG form had nowhere to write.
• NOISE, a smooth random LFO (#20). It's a new source in the modulation matrix (LFO > MOD, KNOB 2). Each track wanders on its own, a new value about every 46 ms with a smooth glide in between.

Fixed (taken from JIANT and Felucca, the firmware GW-1 is built on)

• Clicks under load. An audio block that ran late made the next one replay 2.9 ms of old audio. Now a late block is caught up at once.
• DRUM-X STEREO clicks and grit with IMAGE on and both cores running.
• CLOUD reverb:
  • it no longer crackles when pushed hard;
  • it no longer clicks with AIR up;
  • SIZE at max no longer freezes silence from an empty start.
• The delay at its longest TIME with MOD up no longer leaks the dry signal into the echoes.
• LFO FREE: its FADE no longer comes back on every note.
• A BPM of 0 can no longer crash the tempo maths.
• 3 KB of main RAM freed for later features.

New sounds for pads, drones, strings and keys, from #17. Projects, sounds and settings carry over from v1.1.1-GW.

What's new

• 21 presets, at the end of each engine's list in PRESETS:
  • ANALOG: EVOLVE PAD (it drifts by itself), SOLINA (a string machine), DEEP DRONE
  • PHASE: CRYSTAL PAD, HAZE STRINGS · VOICE: SOFT CHOIR, ANGEL AIR · WHEEL: DRONE ORGAN · NOISE: OCEAN, DUST HAZE
  • FM6: SOFT EP, REED PIANO, FM PIANO, GLASS KEYS, CRYSTAL BELL, KALIMBA, VIBES, MUSIC BOX, WARM PAD, GLASS PAD, CELESTA. Velocity opens their brightness.
• GW-1 KEYS, an FM6 bank built in. Until you send a bank of your own, FM6's SLOT B1–B11 hold these eleven voices. A bank you send replaces it, as before. web/banks/gw1-keys.syx is the same bank as a file.
• The pads move by themselves: a preset can now set its own LFO and modulation.
• The generator doesn't pick the new presets, so a share code makes the same piece as on v1.1.1. Make a piece, then put the new sounds on its tracks with PRESETS.

A small update to v1.1-GW. Projects, sounds and settings carry over both ways.

What's new

• Automation you can see (#2, #10). Knob moves made while a track is armed and playing are recorded as automation, and now the screen tells you:
  • the first time a knob gets automation, the header says so, with the REC chord that clears it (AUTOMATED. REC+ENV CLR);
  • an automated knob's card shows an A.
• MENU > GEN > SELECT ON HOME (#3): GENERATOR (the default, as before) or TEMPO, so SELECT on HOME changes the BPM instead. The generator is still on HOME held + SELECT and OCT− + PLAY.

Fixed

• The MENU's MIDI OUT and LOAD rows now update their value on screen when you change it.

• Trap family in the song generator: TRAP, TRAP ATL, UK DRILL, DARK TRAP and RAGE TRAP each have their own generator. They come with producer flavours, ten 808 recipes ported from GammaWave and WRAITH, and ANALOG's new TUBE and FOLD waves for dirty 808s.
• TAKES, the songwriter: every piece you make goes on a reel.
  • Make takes from the one playing: re-instrument, new drums, new melody.
  • Give a section its own parts, and let JAM make takes by itself.
  • Record a SET (an arrangement of takes).
  • The reel and the SET survive power-off, and share codes pass a take on.
• NOW and takes you choose: knobs and keys edit the music playing. A take is saved only when you choose to (SAVE). Undo goes one step back or back to the original. Hold OCT+ to see the whole key map.
• The GEN screen: one control model on every page, with big pop-ups that say what changed. No more flashing or cycling on every change.
• The SET plays whole phrases, and opening the reel no longer changes the music.
• A real trap snare and clap: DRUM-X gets two new sound models, SNARE and CLAP (EDIT > SOUND 3 > MODE). They are built at full rate, fitted to producer one-shots, held, clipped and tuned. The trap genres use them, and the snare finally cuts through the 808.
