Acultur8 FM-1 Kick - 0.1.60-stoppedtrace prerelease
Experimental prerelease for M-VAVE FM-1. Read the known limits and recovery notes before installing. The tested firmware bytes and existing target limits are unchanged.
Known limits
- Physical core1 stack and broader worst-case deadline coverage remain unmeasured.
- Two earlier .59 dropout-counter events remain unexplained. They did not reproduce in controlled .60 idle, query, transition, 5-minute and 25-minute P11 checks. The new stopped-event diagnostics do not establish that a root cause was fixed.
- Observed results apply to the tested unit and workloads, not every pattern or MIDI setup. Complete DAW automation and fault/power-loss acceptance are not claimed.
- The starter preset has JSON, a native record and a control reference. There is no automatic JSON importer, mod-pack loader or native Tightness Factor in this scope.
Included Hybrid 808 kick shaping, velocity expression, native preset STORE/RECALL and existing long-tail retrigger handling. Favorite Slot 1 is the selected starter sound. Version .60 also extends retained dropout diagnostics to blocks that begin while stopped.
Validation
- 135 required engine checks, including 39 host scenarios; six additional kick groups.
- Independent target rebuild: image, ELF, disassembly and package matched byte for byte.
- All 15 original static gates passed. IRQ wrapper: 83 instructions; original limit: 85.
- One FM-1 completed a user-timed 25-minute complex P11 run with 0 dropouts and 0 guards. Measured IRQ stack high-water was 1,092 / 7,936 bytes, not a physical core1 stack bound.
- Scoped quiet listening, filter/limiter sweeps, overlapping-tail listening, native STORE/RECALL and normal restart preservation passed. The starter sound was auditioned separately, then the previous sound was restored exactly.

v0.1.32-straightbetaStudio Precision X0X 0.1.32-straightbeta - straight time and sound overridesBeta12 files
Global STRAIGHT rate selection and per-sound overrides join the existing MIDI CC experimental beta. Set GLO to STRAIGHT and give only the snare a STR+TRIPLET override;choose1/16T there while the kick stays1/16. Existing pattern rates are not rewritten when changing policy.
The complete package includes the updated FAQ, pattern-clearing instructions, the overall FAQ links, the version-matched753-entry MIDI reference and a promo page with the generative signal artwork.
The exact installed firmware/source passed 134 required checks, 39 host scenarios, actual WASM, updater simulation, target budgets and byte-identical frozen-source rebuild. Bounded physical controls, listening and save/restart passed on one unit. Advanced remote-action hardware gates, worst-case physical performance and Reason external-clock stability remain open. No 0.1.31 averaging/fine-tempo controls or future alternate synth/drum engines are included.
Back up before installing. LAN3 saves require compatible firmware;keep your prior firmware and matching pre-feature project. See KNOWN_ISSUES.txt and INSTALL_AND_ROLLBACK.txt.
Release, promo, FAQ and MIDI reference: https://keyboy250.github.io/fm1-x0x-acultur8/experimental/0.1.32-straightbeta/ The existing emulator and all historical releases remain unchanged.
Inspired by automating a rate parameter on a MIDI object: stepping between straight, dotted and triplet options made the groove feel clunky, like a train wreck. STRAIGHT keeps the sweep deliberate; local overrides make triplets an intentional choice.

Studio Precision X0X MIDI CC experimental beta (0.1.30-calbeta)
This release publishes the unchanged reviewed FM-1_9000130 firmware, corresponding source and a searchable MIDI implementation chart: 751 entries covering 714 firmware controls, 13 browser-only controls and 24 unmapped features. It includes the CC/readback work and accepted routing/inbox fixes, with the existing scheduled USB output and experimental per-unit calibration facility.
Local qualification records 134 required checks, 39 host scenarios, five MIDI feature suites, 15 target gates, updater simulation and a byte-identical frozen-source rebuild. Bounded physical USB CC filtering/readback and selected notes/transport checks passed. Native-panel Freeze/Commit/copy, Undo/Redo and save/reboot checks are separate evidence: advanced equivalent remote CC action hardware replay remains OPEN. This is not full physical MIDI qualification.
Known limitation: Reason external-clock clip/grid stability remains unresolved. The private 0.1.31 averaging and fine-tempo controls are deferred and absent here. No sync fix is claimed. Existing public emulator files remain unchanged. See KNOWN_ISSUES.txt and ACCEPTANCE_REVIEW.json.

Local: all 25 copy scopes, native strict sanitizer tests, production WASM menu/history/storage, 134 required checks / 39 host scenarios,2,557,290 strict query checkpoints,9 Python tests and 15 original target resource gates. Exact OTA/loader/installer simulations passed.
Physical subset:909 full/kick/snare visual copy/Undo;909 full-copy save/restart with distinct AC step 2/swing 60;303 A-only and 808 kick-only exact readback, source/other-lane isolation and Undo baseline/fingerprint restoration. All 25 strip configurations and current project were preserved on install. Not all 25 hardware scope acceptance, broad receiver timing, heavy-load or power-loss qualification.
The query does not trigger save or postpone independent autosave. The separate autosave fix is not included. Internal synthesis bypass, TD-3 routing acceptance, Pi router, named profiles and weighted/evolving blocks remain planned. USB MIDI output is retained; TRS is input. Existing browser emulator and Slice Profiles assets are unchanged.
The bundle includes previous public 0.1.6-beta1 rollback/source; downgrade/restore has not been physically exercised. GPL/component notices and upstream credits retained. No private device data is distributed.

Expected device identity: FM-1_9000106. Installation uses Python 3, mido and python-rtmidi. The .fwsc is firmware, not a double-click application.
Browser Slice Profiles companion
Try the slice editor online: frequency-guided detection, spectrum, band RMS/minimum dBFS, coloured attack matches and per-slice Active, Length, Hold, Decay and Level. Copy/paste/reset settings and save/reopen review projects. The original WAV stays unchanged.
The companion is separate from the existing emulator and the native FM1 sampler. Emulator integration is deferred for the stable-release work. No native sample upload, USB recording, raw REX decoding or velocity-shaped filter is included. Marker exports contain cuts/timing only; use review projects to preserve envelopes and levels.
Tested scope and limits
The exact firmware was installed on one FM1. Bounded block copy/delete/Undo/Redo, independent kick editing, save/restart recall, sequential playback and a one-note scale-safe MIDI comparison passed. A 32-bar block measured approximately 64 seconds at 121 BPM and survived restart. Two arrangement cycles were reported clean. The browser snare-extraction/envelope workflow was accepted as a useful experimental starting point.
Heavy-load/effects, broad external MIDI timing and overnight qualification remain open. One pre-existing dropout had unknown cause/time; the sparse playback check added none. The separate autosave fix is not included. For external MIDI use the existing AUTOSAVE OFF/manual-save workaround described in the FAQ.
Back up first. Older firmware may reject 9–32-bar or Scale-mode project saves. Keep a pre-update project backup and sample WAVs separately; project backups omit samples, calibration and the separate reusable default bank. The included 0.1.5 rollback is not factory firmware, and downgrade/restore has not been physically exercised for this candidate.
Read the searchable illustrated FAQ, controls guide, installation guidance and beta test expectations.
GPL-3.0-only and component notices retained. Based on Charles Vestal's X0X and Hügelton Instruments' Felucca. Font Awesome Free SVGs use CC BY 4.0. Only generated demo audio is bundled; no private projects, recordings, calibration or restricted SDK is distributed.

Back up projects, private samples and reusable strip defaults separately. Heavy combinations of strips/effects may glitch. For external MIDI performance, turn the existing AUTOSAVE setting OFF while stopped, allow the preference save to finish, and save manually between takes. Unsaved edits may be lost on power-off. MIDI timing variation remains under investigation.
This exact firmware was installed and tested on one FM-1: current-project export and all 25 strip configurations were preserved, bounded clap-strip runs added no dropouts, and brief quiet listening sounded normal. These observations do not qualify every workload, MIDI route or long session. The comparison rollback is not factory firmware, and 0.1.5-to-0.1.3 rollback has not been physically exercised.
Local validation included bit-exact audio/state/meters across 2.65 million frames, sanitizers/canaries, 125 engine checks across 36 scenarios, unchanged target resource gates and updater simulations. Host saved-project rendering took about 14% less time; this is not a promised device speedup. No new persistent RAM/pool allocation was added.

All 25 instrument sounds now have opt-in HPF, LPF, boost, sample-peak ceiling and metering: eleven 909 sounds, eleven 808 tracks, both 303 parts and mono BREAK. Marked-WAV preview remains a separate lane. PR #13 passed independent source review, complete required CI and merged-main CI/Pages. All 26 hosted files match the accepted build. Local/hosted editor selection, isolated settings, save/reopen, undo/redo, arrangement/slice coexistence and 390px layout pass. Independent pinned old-WASM comparisons preserve bypass PCM; native/worklet checks cover all sounds and overlapping tails.
Official target: image579636/581564, RAM97860/98304, pool335712/344064; all15 original gates pass unchanged, with160 bytes above8192 reserve. New helper/frame costs are explicit. Lossless Huffman fonts preserve439glyphs/1756render cases; native draw is about49.6% slower, physical timing pending. Sample-peak limiter has no lookahead/true-peak claim. Actual bass-follow, MIDI accompaniment, wider arrangement controls, full scene soak and physical-device acceptance remain open. No firmware installer, private loops or restricted SDK included.

Play the browser alpha or use the local development dashboard. This checkpoint adds opt-in 909 kick high-pass/low-pass filters, input boost, sample-peak ceiling, meters and acknowledged editing with Undo/Redo and Save. Existing projects default to bypass.
Reviewed PRs #6-#9 passed required CI. Hosted editing, undo/redo, save/reopen, busy-save protection, mobile layout and six-slice transport passed. All 24 hosted hashes and exact local/hosted source and WASM fingerprints match. WASM SHA-256: fd8f1221180df959e9e979f0dd4533adadbf52f3d52de45fec468bebad15c6a1.
Firmware resource and original static-cost gates pass, but new active processing still needs physical timing/audio/stack/DMA acceptance. This release is a browser prototype; no hardware installer or SDK is published. Other sound strips, arrangement, progression, chord-following bass and MIDI pad integration remain in development. Native raw REX conversion requires a separately configured local decoder.
Original alpha.1 remains recoverable. See the FAQ and development plan.
