1.6.1_and_sequences_2tweaking chord mode and generative options, and next stepsLatest1 file
A few more small changes - I had the generative option changed so there's an 'ALGO' knob instead of a scale knob, which was always duplicated by the quantize option in scale anyways. At max the knob favors drum hits, at 0 it does nothing to change them, and in between there are some other algorithm things. the different levels smoothly scale between them. Also had the chord mode moved to the third page of SCL, which makes more sense. [Please remember that chord mode needs to be set to PLAY to play chords!] Also I, personally, re-increased the strum timing. The LLM lowered the resolution of this so I made it so that this now moves in 20ms increments, so it can take up to 2 seconds per strum. [You can, again, combine all the black keys at once in the strum mode, so you can strum your preferred chords. It's great IMO. No regrets.]
I have a few ideas on next steps here - felucca has version 1.7 out, so I could keep updating this and just rebase! I might, if I feel like it, or if literally anybody wants me to. But I also have a few larger ideas that will take some time to implement and I ... don't have much time right now, so it might look a little quiet. Here's my general ideas around next steps if I keep working on it:
-
See if I can set up a new, non-forked repository around felucca-DSP and the non-sample felucca-engines, focusing on a less ... bombastic visual approach than the other forks, with top-down sequence switching and some more opinionated UI instead of the current. I might draw some pixel art but we'll see. [I am not going to use generative AI for art except if the vibecode bot just puts it there ... I'll draw my own and replace it if that happens.]
-
Figure out if the FM-1 can do live patch swapping per step.
-
From there, I can see if I can have one or two engines of my own design added via the LLM implementing my design docs. I have an idea for a simple drum engine that's a take on what the sh-4d has, that I think could work really well here - and a synth that's basically a more controllable and smaller version of the OP-X synth from a different branch. There are a lot of instruments and I just want the ones I want, you know?
I'll update the readme of this if/when that's ready, to point to the new repo. But we'll see!! Regardless, if you use this branch, I hope you like the small tweaks here.

1.6.1_and_sequencesFelucca 1.6.1 with generative options and a chord mode1 file
added a generative option - to use, set arp to generative and then press play. also added a chord mode in the save menus which you can save and recall modes to play chords with ... from. adds strum to this as an option (if you hold strum and a second chord type it will 'add' chord to that chord type].
not sure if this will be the last release [because Felucca is being put into 'bug fixes only' mode] but I wanted to get all of the stuff I wanted from Felucca added into this, and this finishes that [other than, perhaps, additional engines]. I also should figure out an actual name for this fork, maybe ... who knows. If I have another release. It might be good to rebase on the felucca 'base' package and not build directly off of Felucca itself ... etc. ... and some of the parts are a bit odd. But I think it's good enough (tm).
