  1. v0.1.1v0.1.1 — unstable, for testingLatest5 files

[!WARNING] Unstable. For testing only. Expect bugs, freezes and crashes. Do not put this on a deck you are relying on — not the night of a gig, not on a club's unit, and not on the only player you own.

Fixes for everything reported against 0.1.0.

    Documentation · Getting started

    Install

Copy CDJ3Kv011_mods.UPD to a USB stick formatted FAT32 or exFAT, make sure it is the only .UPD on there, and run the deck's normal firmware-update procedure from the top USB port. The deck restarts itself twice. Installing over 0.1.0 works the same way.

    Remove

Power off, hold CUE/LOOP CALL ◀ and TEMPO ±6/±10/±16/WIDE, and power on holding them. The deck comes up in service mode and the mods come off as it starts. uninstall/CDJ3Kv000_remove.UPD does the same from a stick.

    Requires

A CDJ-3000 on firmware 3.13 to 3.22, either hardware variant.

    Fixed

    Gate cue

    • A hot cue pressed while the deck is playing is a normal hot cue again. Pads only gate when the deck was paused at the press. (#2)
    • The GATE CUE shortcut on the play screen is a filled plate in both states, grey when off, so it reads as the control it is and no longer as an indicator, with even spacing to the timer and the tempo. (#7)

    Browse

    • The EDIT toggle appears in the browse header on every stick, not only on those whose category rail happens to have nine entries. (#3)

    Stems

    • A 32-bit float WAV gets its own stems instead of inheriting the previous track's. (#4)
    • VBR MP3s are sized correctly and get stems; the length probe no longer fails. (#5)
    • Loading a cached pair off the stick no longer shows the warning badge. A pair too large for the deck's free memory is retried instead of loaded, which is what took a 9-minute track down. A stick prepared with one separation model plays on a deck using another. (#6)
    • The stem job starts when a track is loaded paused, not only once it plays: with AUTO CUE off, switching tracks on a paused deck no longer waits.
    • The progress bar counts each stage on its own and no longer jumps or steps back between separating, downloading and loading. Reconstructing and writing are not counted by the server and hold at 80 and 81 until the next stage.
    • The STEM SERVER ADDRESS row in MOD SETTINGS is reachable: the list was one row short when every mod was on and the location set to MANUAL.
    • The LAN notice and the documentation link in the STEMS rows are correct.

    Thanks

    Reports from @loyahdev (#2), @0x606a (#3) and @kylel1213 (#4, #5, #6), and the GATE CUE plate design from @lbarnette (#7).

  2. extras-filesSamples and loops for your stick1 file

Files that go on the USB stick you play from, for the features that read more than your library from it. Unzip and copy the mods folder to the root of the stick.

These do not change between mods releases.

    X-PAD samples — cdj3k-mods-starter.zip

Eight drum one-shots on the hot cue pads: pads A–D a 909 kit, E–H an 808 kit. extras/ holds a full 707 kit, a 606 kit and a few more 909 sounds to swap in. No configuration file — X-PAD takes the first eight files in mods/loops/, in name order. See readme.txt inside.
